What is an IP?
An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a numerical label that is assigned to devices participating in a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication between its nodes.
How to change my IP?
This can be kinda sticky. Depending on the operating system you use, you may be able to change it through MSDOS with a release and renew command. The sticky part is most ISP (Internet Service Provider)'s provide you with a static IP, so you are unable to change it without contacting them. It is very difficult to convense them to change your IP. However the best way to do so is by explaining that you have had issues connecting to an online game like "Battlefield 2," or "World of Warcraft." Many to choose from. Tell them that you have contacted their customer service and they walked you through making sure a Firewall wasn't blocking you, and they believe its the IP. Do not mention anything about a ban, or they won't do it. Make them think that you are having issues and have contacted the games customer service and that they suggested you to contact your ISP to have your IP reset. In the best case just act stupid!
One problem with this. Most ISP's are pretty ok with changing it once, but if you try to change it more often you will find it increasingly difficult, so if you feel you need it changed hope that you won't need it changed again. :)
Another way to try to reset your IP (if it is not static) is by unplugging your Modem, and router for 12-36 hours. In some cases the ISP will drop the IP when it has no contact with the modem and will reset it after it is plugged back in.
I hope this helps!
